Mr. McCarthy earned his juris doctor from the Temple University School of Law in 1983 and his LL.M. in taxation from the New York University School of Law in 1989.

Mr. McCarthy’s practice focuses in the areas of business, commercial law and estate and wealth preservation planning. Mr. McCarthy began his career in the Tax Department of Arthur Andersen and began practicing law in 1983. He has lectured, written and counseled clients in various areas including taxation, business matters, international transactions, estate planning, asset protection, wealth preservation strategies, and varied corporate and business matters, including complex purchase and sale transactions, joint venture arrangements, loan transactions, employment matters and real estate transactions. Mr. McCarthy has also counseled clients with matters involving business disputes and in many instances has been instrumental in working through differences that would have otherwise ended in costly and protracted litigation. Finally, he has represented a number of clients in working through financial hardships, including negotiations with lenders and creditors.
